"I am comfortable...here, I see, not what I imagine, but what is there.
"I have made art this week, and last...drawing, sketching, painting...on the floor, on paper, thick and durable enough to sit upon, which I did,as I marked and blended and portrayed...the small as though it were large, the ignored as if it were important, the shy escaping things because they are the marks of our having come this way.
"This is private, resolute, and secretive. This is a whisper.
Who hears?"

This study measures 9" x 12" and is Casein (water based) paint on lightweight watercolor paper. There were minor tears in the edge of the paper in the lower right corner which have been glued. The top left corner is not square and, of course, the thumbtacks are visible holding the painting to the wall. Signed lower left. This is an interpreted version of a larger painting I am working on at present.

Transition
I'm thinking about changing this blog's name to 'Painting a Week' or 'Painting a Month'. My work tends to become somewhat involved. I am not always a hack. Figure drawing is beginning to interest me again. Older drawings, some of them figurative, can be seen here: http://www.dancingokra.com/Gallery_Drawings/index.html
I may offer some of the larger drawings for sale. These are generally 22" x 30".
(When I figure out how to work paypal these things will be offered for sale. Presently I am getting errors with the code.)
